Let's start by explaining the normal process of dealing with the radio
stations for your commercials. Then we'll show you how we're

 Many
local commercials are done by the radio station. They will sell you
an air time package or "schedule". You'll be told that the
commercial is "free". The fact is the production costs of the
commercial are wrapped into the cost of the air schedule. Now about
the commercial you'll get...
They just use the standard formula: music
bed + stock sound effects + voice over = cheap commercial. You
get an off air personality or radio jock who's generally unknown, because
the names you know cost big money in talent fees. The script is
either a standard copy or written by an intern. The point is that
they spend as little time and money making your commercial as possible.
If you're lucky, it will take 20 minutes to create it. What you end
up with is just another commercial on the air that makes people change the
station. Not very effective.
